The new boards are up and looking hot!
After a 48 hour session of backing up, installing and tweaking, the new bulletin boards are up and looking hotter than a volcano in hot pants.

The bulletin board update is under way
It's been an indescribably tedious task, but it's looking like the shiny new boards are getting closer to completion. After an arduous day of backing up chunky databases and battling with temperamental SSH Telnet interfaces, we've finally got the new software up and running on the server.
Before we can share it's gadget-tastic glory with the rest of you lovely people, we have to optimise the database: a job that makes packing envelopes seem positively exciting.
The 'build search index' has now been running for the best part of four hours. It's indexed just iver a million posts so far.
Only another two million to go, then.
Aaaargh!!!!

Calamity!
urban75.net (the bulletin boards) are currently down.
I'm not too hopeful that they'll be up and running until the morning, either as the web host tech team are all tucked up in bed and dreaming of server farms....

Aaargh! Disaster!
Both the urban75.org and .net parts of the site will be down for some time...anyone desperately missing the bulletin boards is advised to head off to the slightly crap (but working) temporary replacement here

Aiieee!
Both urban75.org and urban75.net are COMPLETELY knackered and it's not looking good. I've blasted out letters to my tech support, but I suspect that they'll all be tucked up in bed dreaming of routers and port probing.
Hopefully all will be well by the morning.. fingers crossed!
